Today was International Womens Day and what better way to celebrate than at the Letters Live event? Letters Live is a celebration of the enduring power of literary correspondence. They organize live events where remarkable letters are read by a diverse array of outstanding performers. And today’s event was no exception, as the audience was treated to captivating readings by Damian Lewis, Helen McCrory, Kristin Scott Thomas, Benedict Cumberbatch, Gina Miller, Sophie Hunter, Amanda Abbington, Mariella Frostrup, Louise Brealey and more.  Damian was the surprise second half guest since Benedict Cumberbatch read in the first half.  One fan writes, “Helen read an incredibly moving excerpt from Lucitania.”

On March 7, 8 and 9 of 2018, Letters Live returned to London’s iconic Union Chapel to once again bring letters to life. Over the course of these three unique evenings, a diverse array of world-class performers from the stage, screen, music, art and literary worlds took to the pulpit and breathed life into correspondence from all walks of life, taking the audience on an emotional and unforgettable journey through time.

Since 2013, Letters Live has moved audiences to both laughter and tears by celebrating the pain, joy and wisdom preserved in letters written throughout the ages, expertly brought to life by an ever-changing cast of some of the most acclaimed performing talent from around the world.
