Best Beginnings 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner

Helen and Damian attended Best Beginnings 10th anniversary dinner on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Guildhall in London to springboard the charity into their second decade. The evening began at 6:30 p.m. with a Champagne Reception sponsored by Pol Roger, followed by a three course dinner in the Great Hall.  “School of Rock – The Musical” was the entertainment for the night.  Thirteen superb child actors performed live, putting children at the heart of the event.

Auction prizes, alongside dinner tickets and pledges, raised more than £100,000 in support of Best Beginnings’ future plans. Best Beginnings is a UK charity which aims to reduce child health inequalities by creating and distributing innovative resources for families and professionals. Damian Lewis and Gala Ambassador Helen McCrory attended the Circus Gala 2018 titled ‘Expect the Unexpected‘ in London on Thursday, May 10, 2018. The Gala is a fundraising event to help raise money to support the next generation of circus artists and will celebrate and ignite the future of the art-form.

This year, the National Centre for Circus Arts Gala partnered with Chef Ben Spalding to offer a unique and unexpected three course dinner, along with cocktails, silent and live auctions and other fundraising games.

The first statue of a woman in Parliament Square has been unveiled two years after the campaign for female representation outside the Palace of Westminster began. The statue of Millicent Fawcett, the suffragist who fought for women’s right to vote in the early 20th century, joins 11 male statues in the square.
