On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, Damian and Helen, among other celebrity ambassadors, attended the Prince’s Trust reception event last night at St. James’s Palace, London in support of the Youth Can Do It campaign. Hosted by HRH Prince Charles, it was a chance for the Prince’s Trust to thank all the Ambassadors who have supported them throughout the years. What an incredible bunch!

On 24th May, staff, pupils and parents gathered to congratulate prize winners and bid farewell to the outgoing Sixth Form at this year’s Speech and Prize Giving Ceremony.

Helen McCrory OBE was this year’s guest of honour and after giving out prizes to pupils who have excelled throughout the academic year, and to pupils who are joining UCS having received scholarship prizes following impressive performances in the school’s entrance assessments, Helen delivered a truly memorable speech to a packed Great Hall. The 800 strong audience hung on every word as she encouraged everyone to “break the fear barriers in your life, vote, be passionate, and respect and empathise with others”.

Best Beginnings 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner

Helen and Damian attended Best Beginnings 10th anniversary dinner on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Guildhall in London to springboard the charity into their second decade. The evening began at 6:30 p.m. with a Champagne Reception sponsored by Pol Roger, followed by a three course dinner in the Great Hall.  “School of Rock – The Musical” was the entertainment for the night.  Thirteen superb child actors performed live, putting children at the heart of the event.

Auction prizes, alongside dinner tickets and pledges, raised more than £100,000 in support of Best Beginnings’ future plans. Best Beginnings is a UK charity which aims to reduce child health inequalities by creating and distributing innovative resources for families and professionals.
