BBC’s acclaimed crime drama Peaky Blinders is filming in Liverpool again – and this time it’s gone back to school.
The Peaky Blinders crew has moved in to the Blue Coat School in Wavertree for the next three days to film scenes for the third series of the gritty gangster series.
Starring actor Cillian Murphy as gang boss Tommy Shelby and Helen McCrory reprising her role as the family matriarch Polly, the post-World War I drama is returning after two previous location visits to the city.
Producers chose Liverpool for series one and two to recreate the show’s historical setting, with locations including Stanley Dock, Powis Street and Rodney Street.
For their latest shoot, they have moved out of the city centre and into Church Road where they are using Blue Coat’s Grade II listed building. Residents on the road, off Allerton Road, received letters telling them production crew would be arriving today to film in the school’s conference centre and beautiful octagonal domed chapel.
