The interview about Helen and her relationship to husband Damian Lewis which I posted in the previous post is part of the full interview which will be published in Woman and Home magazine on March 30. Helen will be on the cover of the issue (which will actually be out tomorrow!). Plus, a new photoshoot will be featured by the talented Trevor Leighton.

I uploaded LQ and tagged images to the photo gallery. Enjoy!

‘I love him to bits and he’s funny’: Helen McCrory calls husband Damian Lewis her ‘best friend’ and says they’d love to act together again… 14 years after meeting onstage.

They have been married ten years and both maintain busy and successful acting careers, but Helen McCrory and Damian Lewis are still very much in honeymoon mode.

‘Damian is my best friend,’ Helen, 48, declares to Woman & Home magazine in a new interview. ‘Why? Because he’s the most available person to me! No, it’s because I love him to bits and because I respect his opinion and because he’s funny.’

The Peaky Blinders star said that while they have plenty in common, she and Damian don’t live in each other’s pockets.

‘I don’t go up to Anfield with him at the weekend (he’s a Liverpool fan), and he’s not interested in facials and going to Bikram yoga with me,’ she explains to the magazine.

‘It’s not like we’re totally hand in glove but he does like the same stuff that I do.’

However, the actress admits she’d love to perform alongside her beau on stage.

He is best known for his leading roles in US dramas Homeland and Billions.

And while Damian Lewis, 46, has perfected his American accent, he revealed his wife Helen McCrory, 48, lives in fear that their two children – Manon, 10, and Gulliver, nine – will pick it up from him.

The star keeps up his adopted accent away from film sets, but he draws the line when it comes to inside the family home.

He told Mr Porter: ‘I don’t do it in front of them. They once spent a school term in the US and they started copying the accent in this comical, exaggerated way, elongating their vowels. I put a stop to that. My wife has a horror that the children will start talking American if we spend too much time out there.’

Damian’s friends back in Blighty have also given him stick for altering his voice, but he doesn’t let their criticism affect him.

I know it’s been a while and I should’ve updated the site more often, but I’ve been pretty busy with studying for my final exams at university. Fortunately, I had my last one for this semester today.

I came across this interview, which was published by the Telegraph last month. Still wanted to share it with you though.

Helen McCrory is known for playing strong women. She’s the gunslinging matriarch in period gangster drama Peaky Blinders and her CV is full of meaty stage roles, including a heartbreakingly defiant Medea at the National in 2014, and big-screen appearances, notably as an intransigent Cherie Blair in The Queen. So it’s strange to see her sitting down and eating very daintily, pushing the food to one side of her mouth.

“Look at me, I resemble a little gerbil,” she says.

Personally, if I had to compare her to an animal, it would be a cat. She has a feline sensuality and a formidable emotional intelligence which have marked her out as one of the most compelling actresses of her generation. These qualities are being put to good use in her latest stage role as Hester Collyer, the tragic wife at the heart of Terence Rattigan’s smouldering 1952 master- piece The Deep Blue Sea. The unhinged, sexually infatuated Hester has abandoned her High Court judge husband and Eaton Square home for a chaotic, all-consuming affair with boozy, former RAF pilot Freddie.

Thanks to dear Robert Swale (@robertjswale) for those two incredibly cute behind the scenes pictures of Helen on set of Peaky Blinders season 2. He uploaded those to his Instagram account.

I added 16 personal images of Helen to the image archive. Most of the pictures were uploaded by her co-stars or the people she worked with on projects. A lot of them are behind the scenes images of Penny Dreadful and all of them were posted on Twitter. I credited all of them and if you’re one of the original owners of these pictures and want them removed from the site, please contact me.

Thanks to Rebecca for the links to the images!
